Develop the necessary skills for bringing accessible solutions to the workplace with three courses related to inclusive design.

Topics include:

Inclusive Design Method 
Focuses on learning the inclusive design technique used to provide evidence-based research in business problems. Participants will learn the practical, iterative, people-centred technique utilized by Design Council.

Creating Accessible Digital Media 
Focuses on creating accessible digital media. Participants will learn how to use industry software to create Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant solutions for documents, presentations and websites.

Inclusive Business Plan 
Focuses on creating an inclusive business plan. Participants will learn how to integrate an inclusive business checklist into a company's planning to add value and avoid delays, complaints, legal challenges and costly retrofits.

Enhance digital products, user experience or content design knowledge with two microcredentials in UX writing. Participants learn how to enhance and improve digital product experiences through words.

For those who have an interest in or are working in digital product design. Knowledge of user experience design, writing (marketing, branding or technical) or content strategy and design is helpful but not necessary.

Topics for the training include:

UX Writing Fundamentals 
Outlines the fundamentals of writing for user experiences by addressing the role and responsibilities of the UX writer within product design. Covers the processes and practices that enable UX writers to craft an engaging experience through words. 

Learn to craft clear, concise and useful microcopy (the words or phrases within an interface that help users complete their goals) — identifying user interface patterns, applying best practices and using appropriate tone and voice.

UX Writing in Practice 
Develop a UX writing toolkit and demonstrate the role each piece plays in writing accessible, accurate, inclusive and compelling content across a complex product experience. Explore how a UX writer works within standards, incorporates user insights into their process, meets requirements and presents their work.

Learn to craft and present clear, inclusive and compelling copy for a digital product flow — adhering to guidelines, utilizing user insights, and meeting business and user goals.
