Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) is a WIL funding opportunity from the Government of Canada. Employers can apply for wage subsides to help them hire postsecondary students. Employers may receive a wage subsidy for up to 50 per cent of the wage to a maximum of $5,000 per eligible placement.

Recruitment and Qualifying Criteria for SWPP:
- The employer must be a registered Canadian business organization and not a federal or provincial government organization.
- The student is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- The student is registered in a full-time program with a postsecondary institution.
- The student should not be an international student and/or on a work permit.
- The final decision lies with the SWPP funding partner.
