Journalism (JRN)

This Seneca program has been validated by the Credential Validation Service as an Ontario College Credential as required by the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security.

As a graduate, you will be prepared to reliably demonstrate the ability to:

• Gather information from a variety of sources in a timely and professional manner to develop content and pitch ideas.
• Analyze and verify information to ensure accuracy of content.
• Write and edit content, using journalistic principles and storytelling skills to meet the platform requirements.
• Produce and adapt content to publish on multiple media platforms.
• Perform all assigned work in compliance with media legislation, standards, principles, and ethical practices of journalism.
• Use an equitable, diverse, inclusive, fair and culturally aware approach to collect and synthesize journalistic information.
• Develop business and/or entrepreneurial skills within media related industries to foster professional growth.
