Journalism

My name is Angie Seth. I am an award winning journalist, news anchor, reporter, host, and storyteller. I have been a journalist for over 25 years. I’m currently a freelance journalist at the CBC. In addition I’m a teaching courses at Seneca College, in their journalism department. Prior to that I was a news anchor and reporter for CTV News Channel covering the biggest stories of the day including 2 Federal elections, COVID-19 pandemic, the death of George Floyd, to the Queen’s funeral and the Coronation of King Charles III, COVI-19 special coverage. In March 2023, I was offered my own show at CTV  - This Hour With Angie Seth. This was an all Canadian content one hour show that comprised of interviews with CTV anchors across the country about issues important to Canadians in the respective provinces on both a regional and National level. I hosted and produced the show alongside my producer. 

Prior to being at CTV, I was a reporter and Multi-market weekend anchor at Global News. I anchored 14 shows a day (6pm and 11pm) across the country. I also hosted an hourly newscast at CBC prior to joining Global in 2013. 

I started my career at OMNI television back in 1999 as a reporter/writer and news coordinator for South Asian News. In 2008 was I promoted to lead anchor of South Asian news, along with specials on the Pakistan earthquake and the 2006 Tsunami.

I am a strong advocate for women’s rights, children’s rights, the fight against domestic violence, racism and discrimination. 

I have been honoured and humbled with the recognition of several awards, including the Edward Murrow Award for Innovative Journalism in 2018 for MultiMarket Content, and the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for my work as a journalist and contributions to the community.
