Throughout the course, students will learn the basic principles of baking and confectionary, including the proper use of ingredients, measuring techniques, mixing and kneading, proofing, and baking. They will also gain an understanding of how to create a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and other sweet treats. In addition to developing technical skills, students will also be introduced to the creative and artistic side of baking and confectionary. They will learn how to decorate cakes, create different types of frosting and fillings, and experiment with different flavor combinations. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on food safety and sanitation practices, as well as developing good habits for managing time and materials in a commercial kitchen. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the techniques and skills of baking and confectionary and will have the knowledge and confidence to experiment with new recipes and techniques on their own. Whether pursuing a career in the food industry or simply looking to impress friends and family with delicious baked goods, this course will provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
