This microcredential provides the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, modify, maintain and meet the budget of an animated production. The lessons will help you understand the full pipeline of an animated project, including details surrounding human resources, contracts and budget implications.

Skills and Competencies

• Learn how to construct an animation production budget by using a breakdown of script elements such as length, style, software and platform
• Understand the costs associated with the various roles and talent necessary for production
• Learn how to adjust a budget to align with various project pipelines and schedules
• Explore how to effectively use Excel or Google Sheets to produce a budget
• Discover how to modify a production budget appropriately by considering the impact of fringes, grants, contingencies, tax credits and co-productions

Please note: This microcredential is delivered in an online, synchronous format, meaning there are virtual sessions and self-directed modules that can be taken by learners at any time during the seven-week period of study. The professor will hold scheduled online office hours to support learners on a one-on-one basis or in group chats.

This microcredential is eligible for OSAP funding.

• Students with a 60 per cent course load or higher may be considered for full-time OSAP.
