Students will learn makeup application for both day and evening. Techniques for fashion and bridal makeup will also be explored. Instruction in hairstyling will be included to create a final professional look. Successful candidates may apply for the Beauty Makeup Artist Certificate of Completion upon completion of all three courses.
Part-time Studies courses are being offered in either of the following four formats: Online, Flexible, In-person, Hybrid. Click Availability below to see current offerings.
In this 84 hour course, students will study the basics of special effects makeup and learn to apply glamour makeup for day and evening. An understanding of facial structure, colour theory, as well as the tools, materials and techniques for skillful application are studied and put into practice.

Students learn the procedures of basic hairstyling. From the simple art of a blowout, to the proper technique of an elegant up-do style. A variety of tools will be mandatory to perform in this class. Students will be required to bring a live model for one of the assignments.
Students are required to have all these tools and supplies for the first class. Mannequin head with hair a minimum of 16 inches in length with stand clamp for table mount, blow dryer with nozzle, hot rollers, 1 inch or 1 1/4" barrel curling iron, 3 sizes of round brushes, small, medium and large, teasing brush, flat paddle brush, tail comb, barbering comb, bobby pins, do all clips, hair elastics, water spray bottle, medium to light hold hairspray.

This course introduces students to specialty makeup application techniques for fashion and bridal photography. Natural to high fashion looks, runway and historical makeup are included. Professional photo sessions assist students to develop a portfolio of their work.
