If you are interested in applying for a transfer credit, you must:
Transfer Credits and Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
Transfer Credit
Be offered admission to Seneca
Have paid tuition fees for at least one semester
If you attend a Canadian public college or university, we require certified transcripts and course outlines only
While in your home country, have your international postsecondary education assessed by one of the following:
WES Basic Course-by-Course Report from World Education Services — if you have an original transcript to provide us
WES ICAP Course-by-Course Report from World Education Services — if you do not have an original transcript to provide us
Complete the Transfer Credit Request Form at least 5 weeks prior to your semester start date
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) allows you to earn academic credit for skills and knowledge gained outside of formal education — such as through work experience, volunteering or independent study. If you can demonstrate that your learning meets the outcomes of a Seneca course, you may be awarded credit.
If you are interested in applying for PLAR, you must:
- be at least 19 years of age or have earned a Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- complete and submit the PLAR Application Form to the Transfer Credit and PLAR Office at theservicehub@senecapolytechnic.ca.
