Entrance Scholarship of up to $5,000 for All International Students*

You are eligible if you are an international applicant either currently in or outside Canada who is applying to a full-time postsecondary program and confirm your Seneca program choice.

You are also eligible if you are an international student who is:

• paying international tuition fees
• currently studying in Canada and interested in a second program or starting one of our bundled programs
• obtaining or in the process of obtaining your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
• currently studying in Canada in an eligible English pathway program
• currently studying at Seneca and applying for a new program

The entrance scholarship is valid for all full-time postsecondary programs that start in September 2026, January 2027 or May 2027.

If you confirm your Seneca program choice for a Bundled Program, or second program, the scholarship will be awarded for each new program.

If you are interested in a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), please ensure you understand recent updates on PGWP eligibility.

You automatically qualify for this entrance scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Here is what you need to do:

• Apply to a full-time professional program at Seneca through our International Web Application
• Pay a $90 CAD application fee, which will be credited to your student account once you're accepted (If you are working with an agent, connect with your agent to obtain an application promo code)
• Upload a valid study permit or Letter of Introduction (LOI) at the time of application, if you are applying within Canada
• Confirm your offer of admission and pay your first semester fees to receive a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), if applicable, from Seneca
• Complete any remaining steps to enrol at Seneca

You will receive an entrance scholarship and prioritized admission when you start a new program at Seneca. The amount of the scholarship will be based on the length of the program and paid as follows:

• One-year program - $2,000 (a few weeks after Day 10 of classes)
• Two-year program - $3,000 ($2,000 in year one, a few weeks after Day 10 of classes, $1,000 in year two)
• Three-year program - $4,000 ($2,000 in year one, a few weeks after Day 10 of classes, $1,000 in years two and three)
• Four-year program - $5,000 ($2,000 in year one, a few weeks after Day 10 of classes, $1,000 in years two, three and four)

To receive the entrance scholarship, you must provide your Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) or Individual Tax Number (ITN) on Student Home in the first term of your program by:

• February 28 for programs starting in the January term 

• June 30 for programs starting in the May term

• October 31 for programs starting in the September term

Any remaining entrance scholarship that you may be eligible for, based on length of the program, will be deposited after Day 10 of each subsequent year of the program, where relevant.

The Seneca Entrance Scholarship is non-refundable. If this award results in an overpayment of fees, the excess funds will be automatically applied to the fees for the next semester.

If you choose to defer your admission to a future term, you may still be eligible to receive the $2,000 tuition credit of the Seneca Entrance Scholarship, provided you defer to an eligible term.

• If you previously qualified for the (a) PAL and $1,000 Scholarship for International Students outside Canada applying from July 10, 2024 or (b) $2,000 Entrance Scholarship for International Students in Canada applying from May 17, 2024 for full-time postsecondary programs that start in January 2025, May 2025, or September 2025 you will instead receive a scholarship of equal or greater value based on the number of years of study as detailed above
• No cash alternative or substitution will be provided

If you applied to Seneca and confirmed your program between July 10, 2024, and May 31, 2025, you are eligible for the Seneca Entrance Scholarship. This scholarship is available if you are starting in September 2024, January 2025, May 2025, September 2025, or January 2026.

The amount of the scholarship is based on the number of years of study.

If you applied to Seneca’s English Language Institute (ELI) and confirmed your offer between August 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, you may be eligible for a $500 tuition credit per seven-week level to a maximum of $2,000 (or four ELI levels). Learn more about the ELI tuition credit.

To receive the entrance scholarship, you must provide your Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) or Individual Tax Number (ITN) on Student Home in the first term of your program by:

• February 28 for programs starting in the January term 

• June 30 for programs starting in the May term

• October 31 for programs starting in the September term

For ELI students starting their studies in March, July, or November, please provide your S.I.N. or ITN on Student Home by the following deadlines: 

• April 30 for studies starting in March 

• August 31 for studies starting in July 

• December 31 for studies starting in November

Students studying with a visitor visa in the ELI program for a period of less than six months should contact ELI@senecapolytechnic.ca for their tuition credit.

Finally, be sure to pay the first semester fees by the due date in your fee notice. You will need to make this deposit to receive your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), Letter of Acceptance (LOA), and to reserve a seat in your program.

If you're an applicant in any of Seneca’s degree programs, including three and four-year bachelors’ degrees and masters’ degrees, you may combine the entrance scholarship for international students with other entrance awards including the renewable degree scholarship and the diploma-to-degree scholarship.  Note that entrance awards may require a separate application process.
