Turning complex tech into clear strategy: Zachary Ronski’s marketing journey

July 2, 2026

After graduating from Seneca’s Business – Marketing program in 2018, Zachary Ronski built a career helping innovative tech companies bring complex ideas to market. The co-founder of Fello Agency shares how hands-on learning shaped his path and what drives his work in fast-evolving industries.

Why did you choose Seneca over other postsecondary institutions?

I chose the Business – Marketing program because it offered the practical, career-focused learning experience I wanted. Seneca’s hands-on approach stood out to me, and seeing my brother attend Seneca and go on to build a successful career showed me it was a place that could open doors.

What was the best part about your Seneca experience?

The best part was how connected the program felt to the real world. I had attended other postsecondary institutions, but Seneca was different: smaller classes, more interaction and professors who brought industry experience into the classroom. It didn’t feel like you were just a number; you were learning from people who were working in the field.

We applied what we learned through projects, presentations and real scenarios, including work for actual organizations. Those experiences helped bridge the gap between theory and practice and gave me confidence early on.

Another highlight was the sense of connection. I built relationships with classmates, professors and future business partners that have continued beyond graduation.

What are skills or lessons you learned at Seneca that have been most helpful in your career?

One of the biggest lessons I learned at Seneca was how to learn and adapt. Being able to break down unfamiliar industries, research effectively and keep building knowledge has been critical in my work, especially in fast-evolving fields like technology.

I also developed grit and resilience. There was a real emphasis on pushing through challenges, learning from setbacks and continuing to improve. That mindset has been invaluable in building a business, where uncertainty is constant.

From a technical standpoint, frameworks like the four Ps of marketing—product, price, place and promotion—still guide how I think about strategy. Just as important, the presentations and high expectations from professors taught me to communicate clearly and show up prepared.

Were there any opportunities at Seneca that helped you get ahead?

One of the most impactful experiences was participating in the Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition (OCMC). It placed me in a high-pressure environment where I had to quickly develop and present marketing strategies.

Being surrounded by like-minded classmates was also a major advantage. Those relationships often carry into your career in unexpected ways.

Tell us about your company and what you do

I’m the co-founder of Fello Agency, a marketing firm I launched in 2020 with my business partners, Nurlan Sadvakasov (also a Seneca graduate) and Evan Shoub. We work with innovative tech companies, from early-stage startups to publicly traded organizations, with a focus on deep tech such as quantum computing, aerospace and advanced engineering.

We help companies with brand strategy and execution, from positioning to campaigns that support growth. We also serve as fractional marketing leads, guiding higher-level decision-making for teams that need strategic marketing support.

What makes our work unique is our ability to quickly understand complex industries, translate technical concepts into clear messaging and support companies bringing new ideas to market.

Describe a typical day for you

Every day is different, but much of my time is spent working with clients—leading strategy as a fractional marketing lead or supporting active campaigns. That can involve meetings, setting direction and helping teams understand where to focus next.

Writing and research are a big part of my day too, whether I’m following industry trends or creating content in the tech space.

Outside of work, I try to stay active. I usually start early with a workout or run, which helps me stay disciplined with my time and energy.

Building a company means work and life are often intertwined. Over time, I want to create more balance, but right now it is a very integrated lifestyle.

What career accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of working alongside companies that are building and innovating in the tech space. Helping bring those ideas to market and supporting organizations that are pushing boundaries is incredibly rewarding. Ultimately, it’s fulfilling to be around people who are creating meaningful, real-world impact and contributing to advancements that could shape the future.

On a personal level, I’m proud of the resilience it took to get here. Building a business has brought financial challenges, setbacks and moments where things didn’t go as planned, but pushing through and moving forward has been one of my biggest achievements.

Can you share your personal and professional goals?

Professionally, my main goal is to keep building and scaling the agency—growing our client base and becoming the go-to firm for innovative tech companies.

Personally, I want to keep challenging myself outside of work. I’m currently training for a full marathon, and longer term, I’d love to teach and share what I’ve learned with the next generation.

Speaking of the next generation, what advice do you have for Seneca students?

  1. Start as early as possible. Don’t wait for someone to tell you you’re ready—whether that’s a professor, an employer or graduation. You can begin building experience now through projects, freelance work or opportunities you create yourself.
  2. Focus on relationships. The people in your program share similar interests and goals, and staying connected can open doors later.
  3. Push yourself beyond what’s required. Present, participate, challenge yourself and learn from both successes and failures. Once you leave school, no one will push you in the same way, so it’s important to build that discipline early.
