| | Aeronautics I This course addresses basic theory of flight, aircraft engines, airframes and propellers, aircraft instruments, aircraft performance, aeronautical facilities, the Canadian airspace structure, aeronautical radio communications, personnel and aircraft licensing, air traffic rules and the influence of medical factors on flight safety. |
| | Aviation Studies I - History and Standards Topics include History of Canadian Aviation, organizations involved in aviation regulations, the types of aviation business, e.g., airports, airlines, charters, flight school and corporate aviation, aviation law and different aviation associations. |

Students will cultivate an awareness of these concepts by analyzing how they are used in a variety of texts and contexts, and they will apply these concepts strategically in their own writing. Through a variety of writing tasks centred on these core concepts of communication, students will develop the transferrable reading and writing skills essential for success in their post-secondary studies, workplaces, and communities. COM111: This course introduces students to the core concepts of communication. | | MTH120: In this course students are introduced to mathematical concepts that are fundamental for success in technology related studies, aviation in particular. Topics include algebra, equations, polynomials, graphing, systems of linear equations, geometry, and trigonometry. Students will solve problems algebraically and graphically as they relate to aviation applications such as navigation, wind drift, time to destination, top of flight, and others. MTH121: In this course students are introduced to mathematical concepts that are fundamental for success in technology related studies, aviation in particular.
