If you have completed a TESL Canada Standard 1 approved program or a TESL Ontario CTESOL approved program, you may be eligible for exemption from TESL 1. Completion of a TESL Comparative Review is required (at a fee of $150).
To apply for the exemption, you must submit a completed TESL program application, a copy of the certificate, a detailed subject outline, daily breakdown of course hours, description of assignments and detailed information about the practicum component. The Comparative Review may determine that additional assignments are required to cover missing curriculum content.
