It will expand on the concepts introduced in FPF190 relating to the conditions required for combustion and the way various materials burn. Duration of burning, time to ignition, and various methods to calculate heat release rate will be discussed. Once the growth of fire is understood, modes of heat transfer will be considered to fully appreciate the anticipated spread of fire for a scenario. How these concepts impact fire investigations will also be considered. |
