Accessible Podcasting (ACP100)

This microcredential will provide a clear understanding of the podcasting industry. You will learn how to plan, produce and deliver a podcast through the lens of members of the disability community who wish to produce or access podcasts.

• learn best practices in designing and creating media to reach all audiences including people with accessibility needs
• determine the optimal methods and conditions for interviewing potential guests and contributors, including guests from the disability community
• identify technological barriers for people with disabilities or exceptionalities
• learn how to develop, plan, research and structure a new podcast or episode
• explore how to create a pitch for a production-ready podcast

This microcredential will focus on the best practices for producing high quality, accessible podcasts. You will learn to capture, edit and produce clean, clear audio.

• learn how to include and represent members of the disability community in a respectful manner in podcast content
• assess and prepare a production environment for best recording results
• set up a recording system with appropriate settings
• record, edit and mix audio tracks using appropriate software
• apply sound design techniques to enhance podcast production
• export accessible media files and upload to podcast delivery platforms
