About the Program

The first six years of life are critical for social and emotional development. By providing mental health support for young children, foundations are set that can help them throughout their lives. In this practical microcredential, you will learn to identify risk and protective factors and how to build resiliency. In addition, you’ll learn how to support responsive caregiver-child relationships and strategies to help diverse families and communities.

You will build on skills currently required in the early childhood field and use case studies to ensure you have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and real-world references. Professionals working in child care, parent-child resource centres and early childhood education students will benefit from the course.

This microcredential is eligible for the Ontario ECE Leadership Grant. This grant provides financial support to cover part-time tuition fees and fund professional development opportunities for eligible early childhood educators in Ontario. Visit Ontario ECE Grants for eligibility information.
