About the Hospitality Foundations (HFC) Program

This eight-month certificate program will prepare you to enter a wide range of employment opportunities within the thriving hospitality industry. You will develop skills and knowledge in the core areas of the hospitality industry, such as service leadership, food safety, sanitation, theory and practice, guest services and customer relations and dining room service.

Graduates of this program will be equipped to work in a variety of industries within the hospitality sector including restaurants, cruise ships, hotels and resorts. This program also provides graduates with the skills needed to work in a variety of hospitality settings within the entertainment industry such as live events, sports and brand activations.

Program and Course Delivery

This program is offered in Seneca's hybrid delivery format with some courses available in Seneca's flexible delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements.

In courses delivered in the flexible format, using interactive learning spaces, professors teach in person to students in a physical classroom or lab and stream to students online at the same time. Students have a choice of coming to campus for an in-person experience or learning online.
